I don't know why

I'm starting a blog. I don't do a lot worth telling about. We moved to a different state last year and we haven't really gotten settled into a church yet. I can't work outside the home. It's been hard to make friends. Actually, I haven't made any that I talk to on any regular basis. So I've been gathering my social life through the web, lately. There are some great blogs out there that are so uplifting, so many that make you smile and laugh.

I have Cystic Fibrosis and can't be as active as I used to be. I am very restricted in being outside because so much triggers my sinuses and allergies and infections. Because I don't respond to oral abx (antibiotics) I need to be proactive with my health which alters my lifestyle a little.

I homeschool my teenage son, which also keeps me home.

So, I'm trying out blogging.

I don't know how to blog. I'm learning as I go, so bear with me. It might be a little ugly at the beginning- hopefully I'll learn to "pretty it up" as time goes on. It might be boring at times.

I titled my blog "Then Am I Strong" because of the verses II Corinthians 12:9-10. "As he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

If I wasn't "sickly" God wouldn't have near the opportunities to show me His strength. I would be able to rely more on myself and not Him. He gives me Strength.

  1. Wow! I've been reading MyCharmingKids.net's blog for the first time, and saw your comment, which touched me, so I came over to your blog. Can't believe that this is your first post. It sounds like you'll have lots to share! I've been hiding a bit, since there are some very personal things going on with people close to me that are breaking my heart, yet I can't post for the internet due to privacy.
Suffice it to say that I know that God is bigger than all the situations that we deal with here on earth, and that the things we face are for His glory.
Blessings to you as you continue to find you place in your new community, and I hope that your blog brings you connections that are edifying.

  2. I'm glad you started blogging - it's good for the soul :)

Clicked on one of your comments from Sept. 19 today and noticed you had a blog now and was happy to "meet" you. Hope you are having a good day today.

Click back over to my blog and send me an email (you can find my email within my profile). If you ever need help with blogging, let me know, I've been doing it since June 2005.

    Hugs and prayers,
    Amanda
