I just finished baking and decorating some Valentine cookies. Ryan loves cut-out cookies. It's so hard to have sweet things in the house for him and not eat them myself! But I have GOT to get losing some weight because it's making me so miserable.
I was discharged by Home Health yesterday and my Port was de-accessed. 3 weeks of IV abx and I am feeling better and have more energy. When I do home IV's I'm not allowed to leave the house, under Medicare rules, so today it was wonderful to go out and run errands and get my hair done. Yeah!
I had some sad news today that hasn't quite sunk in. My father had prostrate surgery last week and today was his post-op appointment. The dr. told my parents that they found cancer when they did the surgery. It's a "level 7" - I forget the type (We're going up tomorrow and he's going to write the name down and then educate me.) My dad was a radiation therapist in Oncology so he is familar with all of the kinds of cancer. Mom said she didn't understand a lot of what the dr. was saying, but Dad was nodding his head and understood it.
As I said, tomorrow we are going up in the afternoon. Jim is going to take their car to get the oil changed and we'll do some things around the house that they need help with, plus are getting pizza for supper.
My mom is starting therapy 3x a week for a pinched nerve in her neck, so they have lots going on and are going to be needing more help. Wish they lived closer. They are about 50 min. away, but 10-15 min. would be so much easier when you're making a lot of trips and working around school and a teens' job.
Speaking of which, yesterday one of the chimps (Goliath) bit a zoo keeper. The "retired" chimp (Hank) who is kept separate saw what Goliath did and got mad. He hit the glass, broke it and went through it. Then he started beating up on Goliath. Ryan said it took 6 people to separate them because they are so strong.
Here's a really cute video to watch. It's a National Geographic and it's about a friendship between an orangutan and a hound dog. Adorable! I can't insert this one, so just click here. It's really worth it!
****Last of all, after all the whooplah of going private, I am changing it back to a public one. (I've deleted the more private posts.) The reason that has influenced this change is that people have commented that it doesn't show up on their Reader List anymore and they have a hard time remembering to check the blog. The reason I blog is to form friendships and not feel so alone when I'm home so much and if I feel like no one is out there...that's kind of defeating the purpose! Even tho my posts have been fewer in the past month, I miss all of your comments when I do post.****

glad to see you back in my reader!!!
