I've just been laying low for a few days, trying to rest. My headaches and migraines have increased, my breathing gotten worse. I'm pretty certain I have a sinus infection. My rash has faded, but the itchy phase has set in. (Is that how yours is, Kimmie? Itches when it starts fading?) The only thing the doctors can do is IV's, because none of the oral abx help anymore. I can't do IV's right now because of our insurance situation, but the doctor did call this morning and say Jan. 28th is just too long to wait for a PICC line put in and IV's started. They are working me in for the first week of January when new insurance has started.
So I'm trying to stay inside all I can, taking lots of naps, doing less work, but also trying to prepared for Thanksgiving Day, too. And a few times a day I get on the computer and read my favorite blogs and that just brightens my day.
Of course the sun is brightening my day today, also. Yesterday was cold, damp and rainy all day - yuck. Didn't help with the pain factor at all. But today is around 50 degrees and sunny - so much better!

Mine burns - like my skin has been set on fire - as it is fading - but 1 of my symptoms with MS is that my skin burns furiously all of the time and actually hurts -- you know how your skin hurts the first few days of a bad sunburn? that's how mine feels most of the time now. MS affects nerves; so, I guess somewhere along the line the skin/pain receptor nerve has gotten affected in me.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of sinucleanse? you can look at it online - sometimes you can find them in the Wal-Mart at the pharmacy area and some small pharmacies are now selling neti pots as well -- http://www.sinucleanse.com -- this is what I use to keep my sinuses from getting all crazy on me -- definitely NOT something you want another living human being seeing you do, but it has worked for me in keeping the infections to a minimum
I'm going to add you to my list for prayers! stay warm and feel better!
Hang in there! Hopefully Thanksgiving will offer some distraction from the pain.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you tonight friend.
Debbi,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are getting some rest and that somehow you are able to start meds sooner than January. I'm worried about you.
Hugs and many prayers,
Amanda
