Since last weeks Memory Lane was so serious, I thought I'd share a more "light" memory this week.
Remember that old song that goes Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking...into the future?
Well, when I was around college age I visited my sister. She was living in Columbus, OH then and I still lived in Lancaster Co, PA.
We were in a department store and there was a whole aisle of alarm clocks. When I saw them I got an impish idea and set each one of the alarm clocks to go off at the same time. I was just getting started when my sister asked "What are you doing?". She is 3 years older than me, so expected to be the mature one, but she couldn't believe I'd do such a thing. Laughing, she kind of disassociated herself from me until I was done. We waited in the next aisle until the appointed time, when about 20 (I never counted them, so I'm just guessing now) alarm clocks all went off at the same time. It was so much fun watching the salesclerk trying to turn them all off!

We laughed about it the rest of the day and still laugh over it from time to time about 25 years later!

ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! Great memory!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny! Sister memories can be so fun.
ReplyDeleteLoved this "sister" memory.
ReplyDeleteMy sister was the one that always instigated the mischief,...but I had fun when I followed her pranks and joined in! ((smile))
My post today is about how much I am missing my sis who died in January. I loved her so!
But I know we will all have our time to meet our maker,...and I am just glad I will see her again in Heaven someday.
On a lighter note,...it would have been fun to be there when all of those alarm clocks went off! Fun post!

my girls did that this year at Christmas time. We were in walmart in the Christmas dept where they have the little singing snowmen, santas, penguins, trees... my girls pushed their bellies, pushed their ears, pushed their feet and set them all off. It was a loud isle that day! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, what a memory for sure! I'm sure you both still laugh about it to this day. :)
ReplyDeleteLaughter is so good for us, isn't it? I love this memory you had, you little rascal. I have a big smile on my face. Thank you for that.
