I called BCBS to find out why they aren't paying any of Ryan's surgery bills and found out our insurance deductible has doubled. Individual is now $5K and family is now $10K.
What. do. they. expect. us. to. do?
With Premiums of $133/wk, paying $300-400/mo. in prescription co-pays, and paying on medical bills until we meet $10,000. Monthly oxygen bills, infusion bills in the thousands for IV's a few times a year...
Is anyone else dealing with insurance like this?
This. is. wrong!

This is unbelievable!!! Why even have insurance if they are going to make you pay this much? I really can't believe that. So sorry!!

P.S. I now have really good insurance but when I was with my former employer I did not. I had to pay $8k out of pocket to have Caitlin in 2004. We did not have that kind of money. I set-up payment plans and eventually paid it off. I think you're just going to have to set-up a long range payment plan with each provider...
That is absolutely awful! I can't imagine having that thrown at me like that...I'm feeling so bad for you right now.

oh man.....insurance is the WORST these days. it is really very scary.
