I would be "Sleepy"

I think I've slept half of the day. It must be catching up with me. I'm Dwarf Sleepy!

Haven't seen any money reimbursement from the eBay seller yet. Hearing he's going to do it and doing it are two different things. I won't be happy until I SEE the money!!! I heard Fireworks would help a lot more with the graphics in doing blog design, but I can't do anything until I have that money back.

Did anyone watch Biggest Loser last night? I thought an awful lot of the contestants seemed very nice this season. They were encouraging each other and helping one another and I love seeing that. On the other hand, I'd like to see some different trainers. I hate the swearing, even when they "cover it" and I don't see it necessary for Jillian to get 2 inches from someone's face and call them names and yell at them and tell them they are pathetic or pitifull. That would NOT motivate me! She seems like military material.

I'm very excited about the season, though. Abby's story is just a heart-breaker!

Now hear this!

BIGGEST LOSER starts up again this evening! YEAH!!!!!

************

The doctor stopped my Cipro because of the stiffness and pain I'm having, but said it will take several days to a week for my body to rid itself of that reaction. :-(

They tried about 4 times to access my port today when they changed the bandage and it wouldn't flush and they couldn't get a return on it. I'm swollen again and they were draining more gunk from a few weeks ago and the doctor said they may just call it quits on the IV's considering all of the problems. I had two more bags of IV Zosyn in the fridge. At the least they will let me "rest" and will get back to me in the morning with a final decision.

The problem is, they will still have to access it soon to flush it out so I don't clot.

I filed with eBay and Paypal and the guy is saying he will reimburse me, but I haven't seen it yet. Either way, I will get it! I am determined.

Remember: Don't forget to watch Biggest Loser!

Reaction to Cipro/eBay

I made my way to the computer to research Cipro and Zosyn because of the terrible symptoms I'm having. Looks like it's the Cipro.

My joints are in so much pain and so stiff I can hardly move. It's excruciating. I just ate some yogurt since I read that dairy makes the Cipro less effective.

No more Cipro! And it was the last oral abx I could take.

I have the IV drugs in the fridge to get me through the end of the week, so I'm glad it wasn't them! They are too expensive to throw out.

BTW, the IV bags that were put on the wrong UPS truck last week arrived this afternoon! lol

The eBay seller promised to refund via Paypal by the end of today, but nothing so far. I had told him I would be filing with eBay and Paypal if I didn't see anything by midnight tonight.

I've been had

I know that I haven't posted in a few days. I've been very overwhelmed by several things and it's been hard to gather my thoughts. Especially when I'm so sleep deprived.

Some of you know that we have very high medical bills. My husband's heart, my CF and then my son's accident earlier this year. (We have lousy insurance) I enjoy designing things and thought I could learn to do blog design and earn a little money. Getting to buy some clothes once in a while would be nice (I look like the perfect candidate for the What Not to Wear show!), but paying off some hospital bills would be nice, too.

I bought Adobe Photoshop CS4 off someone on eBay. I am very careful in my eBay transactions. I check Feedback, make sure it's not Refurbished when I want NEW...read everything very carefully. The Photoshop that I bought was NIB (New in Box) and sealed in cellophane still.

This morning, through a series of events that led me to call Adobe, I discovered that what I bought was a fraudelent copy of Adobe. It looks exactly like Adobe, has it's name all over it, but the Serial Number proved that it's not really theirs.

I am livid that there are people out there taking advantage of people like this. We need the money so much as it is. I wasn't buying it for a hobby, but to get a little income to help out.

I have contacted the seller. They offered for me to return it and get a refund. I told them I don't think so! I couldn't depend on them being honest enough to send a refund after receiving it and I reminded them they don't need the product because they shouldn't be selling it anyway. I gave them today to refund my money via PayPal, or else. We'll see.

Adobe told me that there are people selling copies of their products on eBay, but they are imitations and not the real thing. BEWARE of what you are buying, people. I've had 127 transactions on eBay, some buying and some selling. I think I'm going to be paranoid for a while in any purchases. (I prefer selling through Craig's List anymore since it's free and I don't need to bother with shipping.)

Don't mind my blog right now

I'm under construction while I play with different things.

My Photoshop CS4 arrived yesterday morning and I'm having a terrible time figuring it out. I'm rather discouraged. I've watched numerous how-to video's. There is one called Fireworks that looks like what I need. I thought it was part of Photoshop CS4Extended, but now I'm not sure it is. Right now I had to walk away from it before I start screaming.

I'm thinking that what I need is Fireworks or Dreamweaver and would just resell my Photoshop. Can anyone explain the difference bween Fireworks and Dreamweaver to me?

I need someone to take me under their wing! Help!

Hugging & CF

It was wonderful getting to meet Graciy and Josh today at clinic. I got to meet their adorable little girl, too!

Graciy is just as cute and sweet as I'd heard and I got THREE (3) hugs from her! Meeting them was the highlight of my day!

Someone asked what CF is. CF is Cystic Fibrosis. For those asking about the 3 foot rule, CFers are prone to certain bacteria that others don't get. Those bacteria are hard to fight once you get them and you never quite rid yourself of them. It takes harsh and particular antibiotics to cut back on that bacteria. CF clinics usually will have different scheduling times for CFers with different bacteria, so we don't cross contaminate. I have Pseudomonas. Some CFers don't have that "yet" so they wouldn't want to be near me or they could contract it. B. Cepacia is even worse, so they aren't seen at the same time and place as I am.

"People with CF can contract infectious species of B. cepacia from others who have these bacteria, either by direct contact through bodily fluids such as saliva and sputum, by shaking hands, or even indirectly from contaminated surfaces, such as sinks and tissues."

So that's why they have the 3-foot rule at CF Centers. Of course, I could wear a mask and wash my hands immediately if I still wanted to hug someone, but if I don't know someone well I don't see taking the additional chance - for my sake or theirs. When I was in the hospital my CF nurse told me they preferred I not take a walk in the hallway because there were some "B. Cepacia's" down the hallway. I have a hard enough time finding abx to fight the Pseudomonis so I'm fine with not taking chances with anything else!

My PFT's were really good today. That's a Pulmonary Function Test. Last time they were 42% and 1.08 ltr and today it was 46% and 1.24 ltr. I haven't been above 45% since I was at Johns Hopkins about 3 years ago.

They decided to continue my IV abx and oral Cipro (750mg 2x/day for most CFers, not the "usual dose" others get. It's a HORSE PILL!) for another week because I'm still having some symptoms. I also contracted a staff infection in my one nostril while in the hospital so that has to be swabbed now. But the news was basically good.

We discussed the Swine Flu (H1N1). Vanderbilt's ICU is 25% full with Swine Flu patients and most are on respirators. She said if an otherwise healthy person contracts it, it's mostly like other flu's. But if people with lung disease, old people or very young children contract it, it could be deadly. My entire family is supposed to get the vaccine as soon as it's available, plus the regular flu vaccine. (We had discussed this on the CF board, as many aren't sure what to do. Especially since the H1N1 is a new vaccine.)

Going to meet Graciy!

Today I return to Vanderbilt to see how I've done with my IV abx. I wasn't looking forward to the 3 hour drive until I found out that Graciy and her husband, Josh, will be in the CF clinic at the same time! YEAH!!!

I can't wait to meet them. I will keep the CF rule and remain 3 feet from Josh, but I hope to hug Graciy!! She's so sweet!
