Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

I just have a short trip down Memory Lane today. I was thinking about when Ryan was little and he was always smelling the flowers. I have lots of picture of him like this:

only we didn't have digital camera's back then (so you see my blurry, pictures of the pictures!). When I look back over his scrapbooks it comes back to me how often he was smelling the flowers.

Or he would tend to them:

As he grew he became distracted by the bugs. He spent years looking for insects and playing with them.

Now...he rarely notices either!

  2. It is good to remember these kinds of times with our children, and I love looking at old photos of them too. Thanks for sharing yours.

It also reminds me to take time to smell the flowers at all stages of our lives. ((smile))

I wrote a poem about cherishing the little things, and also posted some pictures from a recent family party,...come over for a visit.

  3. There will be so many memories that are dear to you, that our children with not remember. I am struggling with that thought now. I am a 7.5 month old son and it saddens to me to think he will never remember our "mother to child" bonding time. Times I rocked and sang him to sleep or the crazy things for him just to get a laugh! For him, that bond will be something that was always "just there". Which I suppose is a blessing in itself.

I think your blog is adorable - how did you get 3 columns?? I have been searching for a way to do that on blogger...

  7. It is interesting how as children we're curious and awed by simple things. But then we grow up and forget the wonder. That's a great lesson for me. Thanks for sharing your memory.

  8. We should all stop and smell the roses in our everyday life.

To become like a child and follow Jesus daily, and enjoy the small things in life.
