Doctor, doctor, gimme the news

I saw my Internist this morning about the chest pain I've been having. After listening with his stethoscope, he said I sounded crackly, but not more crackly than usual. He was going to do an Xray, but wondered if I had inflammation from coughing so he wanted to try a new topical ibuprofen ointment first. He put some on and left me for a while, then had me cough. It didn't hurt much. He said that some people who cough hard and frequent (I've been doing both a lot lately) will have inflammation between the sternum and...somewhere else, can't remember!

So he gave me a bunch of samples of the ointment, plus 2 mos. worth of Singulair samples. I had stopped taking that one because of the expense, but he thought it might help with my coughing & asthma.

My rash is worse today and he was checking that out. He thinks it's a type of Urticaria, but wasn't sure. It is terribly itchy and bothersome tonight!

Well, it's late and I've had a VERY busy day so I'm off to bed.

  1. Hey, Debbi! I feel like I've been gone from the blogosphere forever...I just got caught up on all of your posts. I sure hope that the samples the doctor gave you help you out some...I'll be praying for you.

  2. Poor thing.... crackly is how Morgan sounds too, but that rash? That can't be fun at all. Stay in good spirits, you still have so much to be thankful for and besides its the month of my birthday, Jesus' birthday and the reason we celebrate LIFE. See doesn't that make you smile already?

    Feel better dear.

  4. So sorry about the chest pain. I get that in my lower regions on my lungs and ribs. Hope the ointment works.

  5. what about a soft cloth baby diaper? I use that when I get mine to block the skin from touching other skin and the clothes from touching the skin. I just sewed ribbons to the edges and then tie it against wherever is rashy..

if it is urticaria, what about a topical lotion to soothe it? Aveeno or something like that with no junk added to it?

hang in there girl - it can't last forever! The singulair may get you a bit more under control too, which could stop the internal reaction causing the rash

    praying for you!
