Another trip to Vanderbilt

I found out yesterday afternoon that I was worked into the schedule of the surgeon for today. The surgeon who placed my Port, that is.

My mom and I left the house at 8:30 this morning. We parked in the parking garage in Nashville and had a wild golf-cart ride to the building my appt. was in. Hold on, Granny! I thought we'd leave my mom laying someplace!

A Fellow tried to flush my Port, but couldn't. After two tries he said they'd just wait for the surgeon to come from the other building. The surgeon had them insert some kind of clot-busting medicine in and I had to sit for one hour for it to work. If that wouldn't work they would remove the Port. Thank God it worked!

From there we had another wild golf-cart ride and then I took a plate of cookies to my CF nurse, Danett. It was funny because I'd stop someone in the department and ask where Danett was and someone would hear me and say "I'm Danett!" because I had a plate of cookies! I said "There sure is a lot of staff named 'Danett' here today!"

My mom treated me to supper at Cracker Barrel on the way home. Yum! Got home nearly 12 hours after we left...again.

Did anyone watch Biggest Loser last night? I really like the contestants this season. They seem really nice and have been working together and helping each other out so much, which is nice to see. I was so glad to see Bob and Jillian being NICER last night and not swearing at people and yelling in their faces, too!


Well, I'm tired and my Port area is sore from all of the needle-poking, so I'm going to go sit in the recliner with a book for a little. Maybe tomorrow I can catch up on your blogs and what's going on in your lives!
