Birdie, birdie in the sky

My dad taught me this when I was little:
Birdie, birdie, in the sky,
dropped some whitewash in my eye.
Thank God cows don't fly!

Now, THAT'S looking on the bright side of things.

So today I want to say that it's been raining and overcast all day, but:
1. It's not hot or cold outside
2. I don't have to leave the house and go anywhere
3. Because I don't have to leave the house, I can dress comfortably and get the house clean.

How's that for the cow side of things?

  1. Nice way of looking at things! I never heard that little poem before, but it's cute!
you asked if I ever hollowed out a pumpkin and put a mum inside. I never have but I've seen it done and it looks nice. I just hate messing with pumpkins, so I leave them whole on my porch. :)

  2. What a cute poem...love it. Now when I see bird dropping, I will begin to think of cows in the sky.
It is damp in my part of Georgia also, however this weekend is our Buggy Days town celebration - just had a parade go down the street and met a VERY IMPRESSIVE man running for governor - Austin Scott.

  3. LOL- love this perspective. And we covet rain here because we get so little of it.
