I know that I haven't posted in a few days. I've been very overwhelmed by several things and it's been hard to gather my thoughts. Especially when I'm so sleep deprived.
Some of you know that we have very high medical bills. My husband's heart, my CF and then my son's accident earlier this year. (We have lousy insurance) I enjoy designing things and thought I could learn to do blog design and earn a little money. Getting to buy some clothes once in a while would be nice (I look like the perfect candidate for the What Not to Wear show!), but paying off some hospital bills would be nice, too.
I bought Adobe Photoshop CS4 off someone on eBay. I am very careful in my eBay transactions. I check Feedback, make sure it's not Refurbished when I want NEW...read everything very carefully. The Photoshop that I bought was NIB (New in Box) and sealed in cellophane still.
This morning, through a series of events that led me to call Adobe, I discovered that what I bought was a fraudelent copy of Adobe. It looks exactly like Adobe, has it's name all over it, but the Serial Number proved that it's not really theirs.
I am livid that there are people out there taking advantage of people like this. We need the money so much as it is. I wasn't buying it for a hobby, but to get a little income to help out.
I have contacted the seller. They offered for me to return it and get a refund. I told them I don't think so! I couldn't depend on them being honest enough to send a refund after receiving it and I reminded them they don't need the product because they shouldn't be selling it anyway. I gave them today to refund my money via PayPal, or else. We'll see.
Adobe told me that there are people selling copies of their products on eBay, but they are imitations and not the real thing. BEWARE of what you are buying, people. I've had 127 transactions on eBay, some buying and some selling. I think I'm going to be paranoid for a while in any purchases. (I prefer selling through Craig's List anymore since it's free and I don't need to bother with shipping.)

Yikes! Let us know how it goes. Did you report them to Ebay? I'd be so mad if that were me. Jerks.
ReplyDeleteThat is awful! I don't know why people do that kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Those kinds of people make me hoppin' mad.
ReplyDeleteHave you disputed it through Paypal? I've had a few transactions go bad with things I've gotten off Ebay, and the sellers refused to deal with me directly. Since I had paid through Paypal, I was able to dispute the transaction through Paypal, and after a certain amount of time in which they also refused to respond to Paypal's demands, Paypal reversed the transaction, withdrawing the money from the seller's account adn putting it back in mine. You might look into that if you haven't already - just go to Resolution Center under My Account.
EMAIL ME...
ReplyDeleteOh, Debbi, I'm so sorry this happened to you! I'm praying that it works out and you get refunded.
ReplyDeleteLove, hugs and prayers,
Amanda
I was had on eBay once and I filed a dispute through Paypal. I got my money back! Also, I buy everything from Amazon now. I've just heard too many horror stories about eBay. I'm sure you will get refunded. Just make sure you file disputes with both eBay and Paypal.
ReplyDeleteGood grief!! fight it girl!! I can't believe people don't think it's going to get figured out!
