How do they sleep at night?

This evening when my parents were traveling to church, they were the victim of a hit and run driver. They were on a highway and it could have been so much worse. Their front passenger door where my mother was sitting doesn't open properly and my mother's back hurts a little, but it could have been so much worse.

I don't get how people can do that - hit someone and keep going! Most likely they didn't have insurance, but it just seems like they must be a really cold person to do something like that. I wonder how they sleep at night?

That reminds me of when I was a secretary. We used to get those calls about getting our toner refilled, but they were scammers. When I'd get the call I would say "Does your mother know what you are doing for a living?" (Some of them would hang up at that point and some would get nasty.) Then I'd ask "How do you sleep at night?" Instead of me hanging up on them, they'd be hanging up on me. lol

Well, I think I'm all packed for going to the hospital tomorrow. Pray that the Port goes in without any difficulties. Since I had one about 10-12 years ago I am concerned they might have a problem with scar tissue. I'm not too concerned about the actual hospital stay, just what's being done tomorrow.

I don't have a laptop (boo hoo!) so I won't be able to be on here for several days.

  2. I agree...I have no idea how they can sleep at night! That's beyond terrible. I'm so glad that they are both doing so well considering what they have been through.

I hope that your procedure will go quickly and smoothly!

  8. I'm so glad they are ok!!

When I worked as an admin at the CF Foundation...I used to get the toner calls all the time. Being new at the whole thing, it took me "giving in" once before I realized what they were doing!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your parents' accident. That is awful! I'm praying that your mom feels better soon.
Please let me know how you are doing and if you need anything while in the hospital. I'm sorry I haven't checked blogs in a few days so I didn't know until now that you were going to the hospital.
    Love, hugs and prayers,

  14. I am so glad your parents are okay after their misfortune of being on the highway with some very selfish people.
Good luck on your hospital visit...enjoy eating that which you did not cook and staying in the hospital jammies and in bed all day long :-)
