The State of Affairs

I don't know about anybody else reading this, but the news has been downright depressing the last few months.

Crime is up. There seem to be more and more break-ins and murders.

Madoff ripping off people for billions of dollars. (I expect a 70 yr old to KNOW right from wrong!)

Companies closing, employees being laid off. People losing their homes.

It is very hard to listen to. It's overwhelming to listen to.

And then there is the President and his changes. Ahhhhh! I am not happy at all with him. The money being handed out in large sums, but appearing to not be of benefit to any of us and just costing us more in taxes.

His cabinet choices. They don't pay their taxes. They have supported Partial-Term Abortion. He and his choice for Secretary of Health (??) are for over-turning that decision and allowing FULL-TERM babies to be murdered. Parents don't need to give consent anymore.

Now he has overturned the Stem-Cell bill.

There seems to be no value of life.

All I can say is that President Obama is going to have to answer for an awful lot when he stands before God. And I wouldn't want to be him.

I think I'll just stick to listening to the weather for now.

(Sorry for the political blog, but I just had to get this off my chest!)

  1. I know exactly how you feel. As much as I love to watch Fox News Channel I have had to lay off for awhile. It can get very depressing. I totally agree with you..it makes me so sad that our country elected a President with little to no value for human life. It is very sad to me....very very sad. I know that we just need to pray for our country.....and our President.

  3. I am right there with you. I haven't been watching much news, although I feel like I'm hiding from things sometimes. I just get sick of hearing it. Carrie is right though - we need to keep praying for him.

  4. As bad as the world seems to be getting right now.... its hard and awful, but gives me hope HIS return is that much closer.

Turn the tv off and put on the ipod and listen to nice soft relaxing music. That is all I turn on in my home other than Disney channel for the kids.

    It makes a big difference

  5. I am so with you!!!

btw, humus is a dip of sorts. It is made from chickpeas (garbonzo beans) and is greek (I think)....very yummy and that brand is the best!! I love it with raw vegies or on a sandwich.

  6. My thoughts exactly.

Anyone who doesn't respect the sanctity of life never gets my vote, but now that it's all said and done I'm trying to remember to keep praying for our leaders.

We are so frustrated by his 'stimulus' plans to put more money in our paychecks - doesn't he read the reports that say SOOOO many people don't have jobs? You have to be getting a paycheck for it to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then there's the plan to keep people in their homes instead of finishing out foreclosure...what about those of us who already sold our homes (at a loss) and are now renting?

I could go on and on...*sigh*
