He will turn 16 years this coming Sunday and I always send an update letter and pictures to his birthmother at his birthday. But since I had a computer virus, I don't have a lot of recent pictures on hand of Ryan.
So this morning I told him I wanted to get pictures of him for his birthmother. We had a good time doing some photo shoots of him outside, doing one of his favorite things.

I took some video's of him in action, but can't get them on here right now.
I'm also teaching him some basic cooking this year and tonight he was "on."
I asked him what he was cooking.
Ryan: Maybe Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Me: No, that's not COOKING. You have to COOK something.
Ryan: TOAST with peanut butter and jelly?
Me: No, something like pasta.
So for his first meal he made this

I have to remember when I'm instructing him that he takes things very literal. The sauce was starting to boil and I told him to turn it down.

It was set at Medium-Low, around 3. He turned it to Medium at 5. I said "No! Turn it DOWN! Towards "Low".
He pointed out that he WAS turning it down. Very literal. Have to remember that.
Nice pictures! He is a handsome young man!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures of Ryan. I hope he will have a very Happy Birthday on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and he have been sharing special moments and getting along so well. That's wonderful.
It is sometimes a hard age for boys.
Thanks for your comments and friendship here in blogland!
Thanks for sharing pics of your son. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteOh - that is SO funny! My boy is VERY literal, too - I have to laugh at some of the things that he comes up with!
ReplyDeleteNeat that you still have contact with his birthmom.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!! Cool that you are teaching him to cook. My kiddo can make PB and J and cereal.
