Lemonade

Thank you, Carrie!!!

I have been naughty and have never recognized an award given to me! You know how you read something when you're in a hurry and say "I'll get back to that later when it's not so hectic." and then you forget about it???

Well, Carrie, my CF-blogging friend has awarded me this nice award.

The purpose of this award is to give it to someone who is showing gratitude or a good attitude ("if life hands you lemons, make lemonade") within their life or blog.

I hope I live up to this!

I was thinking about this kind of attitude today when we were out getting groceries in the absolutely pouring, drenching, flooding rain. (And we've had several tornado warnings this afternoon.)

"Well, at least it isn't freezing rain."

"At least it isn't snow!"

"At least my car works and I'm not left stranded!"

"At least I have money for the groceries I came out in this miserable weather for!"

Then I got thinking it would be fun to hear some things that you might have a tendency to grumble about, that you can think of a positive side to it. Something you could find to be thankful for in the midst of the grumbling.

So, let's hear it....

  1. When I have post nasal drip I remind myself-- It could be a full blown sinus infection and I could be super sick and popping antibotics.

When it is cold in the house I remind myself it could be below zero outside... THAT IS MISERABLE.

When my shoulder or neck hurts, I am thankful that my body is still in one pice-- no broken bones just icky arthritis.

When hubby drive me nuts-- I am reminded I am thankful I have someone to drive me nuts. I then quickly give him a kiss and he wonders what he did to deserve it... Nothing.

  3. Congrats and great post!
Hope you are feeling better today.
I can say, "at least we have our jobs, our health and our Caitlin."
I actually did feel "blah" this morning but after a few funny experiences at work today my spirits were lifted. I DO have things to be thankful for :) even when things don't feel perfect.
    Love, hugs and prayers,

  4. Welll....haha, funny you ask this today!

I got three flat tires this morning, all at once. THREE! So, I got out of the car, surveyed the damage, and said "At least THAT ONE isn't flat!", pointing to the lone tire with air in it. Then I kicked the car and felt a lot better. :)

  5. Your comment on my blog made me cry!!! And, when I tell Jen that the second hug I give her tomorrow is from you, I bet she'll do the same! Please add them to your prayer blog if you have a chance....they are really struggling right now. I want to help but feel inadequate. All I can do is pray and help with Skylar whenever possible. They are amazing people and my heart just breaks for what the are going through. Jenn is truly amazing!!!

"At least I have a family that is whole and healthy!" Praise be to GOD!!!

  6. I am truly blessed to have H with me.. I prayed for years to be given the opportunity to adopt a child and it never happened. God prepared me for this child, at this time! See my blog post for 1/7 for a look at it from H's perspective...
