
This was taken off the side of our property (but not yesterday) where the water really gushes when it rains hard. As you can see, when it's warm enough R likes to go out and play in it! We have a sloped property and expect to see him wash out behind it sometime.
We've had temperatures this week ranging from nearly 70 degrees to 40 degrees. One day a winter coat, another day no coat. Very weird, especially for this time of year.
One particular rotten day, recently, R was complaining about the weather and saying that he wished it was summer all of the time. He likes it HOT. I reminded him that if we didn't have these changes in weather we wouldn't appreciate the nice weather. That's how we human's tend to be. Give us anything good for a while and we tend to take it for granted. If you don't get to eat out very much it becomes a great treat. If you have a lot of health problems, you REALLY appreciate a "good day." If you've had yucky weather and haven't seen the sun for a week, you really appreciate that sunshine for an hour when it finally shows itself.
This has reminded me of a verse ...."I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." Philippians 4: 11b - 13, NIV
I still have an awful lot that I need to learn to be content about. Being content about the weather isn't so hard for me because I know it's a temporary thing. But things that aren't temporary, or seem unending, are much harder.
Lately I've been rather tired of being sick. (Altho, I have to admit that I haven't been one to say "Why me? Why do I have to live with CF?" I've just known that it was God's plan for me and haven't really questioned that.) On Wednesday I go to get a PICC put in and go on IV's for a while. Then I'll have something else to complain about. See what I mean, jellybean?

ReplyDeleteI'm not a "why me" person either, but I definitely understand the sick of being sick thing.
So sorry you have to go on IV's, but I hope it's not for long and you start feeling tons better!!
I'm curious to know why your ENT doesn't want you to irrigate. You are right, it does help! I make sure I use a sterile saline to do it though.. I don't want to introduce any new bacteria there.
