Please, Mister, please!

If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you will know that the transmission went on my van at the beginning of November. We've been making do with just one car ever since then, with me getting up at all hours to drive my husband to work - even when I'm sick.

Well, last week we finally got the van fixed and we picked it up yesterday. I can't tell you how happy I was to have my van back. And not to be trying to get by with just one car and transporting my husband.

This afternoon my son and I were heading to my parents. I had made my mom a Buckeye Cheesecake for her 75th birthday today - ha! Mom, I told your age to the blogworld again!. It's a 40 min. drive. We were about halfway there, going 65mph on the highway when the VAN DIED AGAIN! Mister, we paid you $900 to fix this thing and haven't driven it for a whole day and it's broken again!!!! Ahhh!

I called my dad and he came to meet us. I suggested we switch cars and he try to drive mine so he could hear and experience the problem. It would go about 5-10mph and eventually quit altogether. (With all of this going on I was 45min. late hooking up my IV.) A friend came with his trailer and picked up the van and we ALL followed him to the garage near our place. Then my parents brought us home. (I guess it goes without saying that my husband is away.) I got the keys to my husband's pickup and they took me to his work for that.

So much for celebrating my mom's birthday at their place, all nice and relaxing! I told her that she will remember what she did on this birthday! We did manage to have a slice of cheesecake before we had to hit the road again.

Happy birthday, Mom!
