Down Memory Lane

I found a great new site this morning. Dancing Barefoot on Weathered Ground. She hosts Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane. "A blogging opportunity designed to help you document those precious times in your life that you don't want to forget! But it's also an opportunity to share your life with your fellow bloggers!"

I have such fond memory's of visiting my Grammy and Gramps when I was growing up.

Grammy loved to feed us! As soon as you were in the door, she was trying to serve you some food. She, herself, loved to eat and I can just hear her voice "They are really good, aren't they, Debbi?" She enjoyed everything WITH you.

One of the reason's it was so fun to be around them was because they were strong Christians and showed it through their lives. Grammy always taught children's Sunday School classes and her door was always open to all of the children in the neighborhood. They were so sweet.

You never heard my grandparents say an unkind word to each other or about each other. Never once. Their love for each other was evident and their love for God was evident in their speech and actions.

Grampa died about 22 years ago. Grammy is in her 90's and has hardly changed. Her memory is quite poor and she repeats the same questions over and over, but you still never hear her say an unkind thing about anyone.

(Grammy & Mom)

I'm not sure if I will live long enough to be a grandparent, but if I do, I want to give fond memories to my grandchildren that my grandparents did to us. I want to be Godly example to them in speech and actions.

  16. Hi, Thanks for the comment about my post about my Granddaughters. They are fun.

I loved your post about your dear Grandma. You are so blessed to have her. I never knew my grandmas. But I did have a wonderful mother.

Your son is a blessing in your life. He sounds like a treasure.

I read more about you and found out that you loved the Fireproof movie too. Wasn't it great! I have heard that is is saving marriages, and encouraging couples to work harder on their marriages.

I love all of the movies that church has made,...especially Facing The Giants.

I see that you enjoy reading. I do also. I have read Dee Henderson too, after a friend recommended her. Isn't she a suspenseful writer? (:>)

I also liked some of the other authors that you read too.

I am sorry that you have CF. You sound like you are a trooper. And I love your verses that you have on your blog,...and as a matter of fact, I love your blog name. You are looking to Jesus and He is your strength! That's wonderful!

I am Lynnette's mom, (Weds. Walk Host) She has faced many trials in her young life and has always found God to be Faithful. She has a book called "In Faithfulness He Afflicted Me". Have you read it? They have lost two babies after birth, and their 6 year old daughter Anna,...and God has been with them through every step of their journey. She gives Him all the glory for her victories.

May God continue to bless you and take care of you through your journey. You are precious to our Lord.

    In His Love,
    Linda @ Truthful Tidbits
